When all the LLXLLQ sample shoes got stolen a little more than two weeks ago, Monday December 3, 2012, the question was asked: what could possibly come out as a positive from this incident? A total of 50 pair of shoes, right foot shoes only gone, with a $10,000 retail value reduced to $0.
In the effort to find the shoes, we sent out a media alert to the Bay Area news outlets, who graciously supported us by covering the story.
We want to extend a heartfelt thank you, to SF Appeal, SF Weekly - the Snitch, SF Examiner, San Francisco Chronicle, Free Republic, One News Page and Kron4News for the coverage. We did get two leads in response. One woman having seen the shoes in the morning of Tuesday December 4 in the street corner of Guerrero and Dorland, and a man who had seen them in the evening close by.
Although the shoes haven't been returned yet - we did receive a lot of media coverage - the silver lining of the event for us.
Also - although we won't be able to sell the shoes and donate the profit to several local women’s charities as planned - we were able to use the left foot shoes and present to new retail stores. In the last week, we have added three new locations - below you have the full list of stores that carries a selection of the LLXLLQ shoes. And more are yet to come.
